Song-writing Course at MSU Denver Fall 2014

March 11, 2014 § Leave a comment

Dear readers, as many of you know I teach English Lit and Writing at Metro State University in addition to my musical work. This fall 2014 I will be teaching the first songwriting course of its kind that MSU has ever offered, mixing song-craft with ideas about aesthetics and focusing on creating community and transmitting our songs to one another. I personally created the course at the request of my friend and mentor, Ron Miles. For many years Ron and I have discussed the problem of music departments not speaking to current music communities and we are trying to change this. If you are a student at Metro and a musician or know one this course will count towards general studies requirements. You do not need to be a music or English major to take it. You do not need to know how to read music to take it. I’m happy to answer questions. Please spread the word, and have a lovely day!

Coming up with song titles for new album. The narrative arc seems appropriate.

Mastering the new Roger Green album

Mastering my new album with my old friend Colin Bricker at Mighty Fine Productions in Denver, Colorado. It is my favorite work since the Goodbye album I made with The Czars.
